The quintessence of the Kung Fu
School of the Southern Shaolin...
The old classic form (TAO LU) of Gung Gee Fook Fu Kuen was inherited from the
Kung Fu School of the Southern Shaolin. It includes basic techniques and fighting methods of the
Southern Shaolin Tiger style, one of the most effective style of hand-to-hand fighting in the
Chinese Kung Fu. Tao Lu Gung Gee Fook Fu was preserved as the most valuable gem by several generations of masters of
Hung Gar style, powerful successor of the combat traditions of the
Southern Shaolin.
At present, there are several different versions of this Tao
Lu. The version presented in this film is completely based on the book of the same name written by outstanding
Grand Master Lam Sai Wing (1860-1943). It is Gung Gee Fook Fu as it was practiced by masters of old generations in
Southern China at the end of XIX-th - the beginning of the
XX-th century.
The secrets of the fighting use of techniques in this Tao Lu were revealed to master
Alexander Popov* by his tutor Sun Ming Chun (1904-1988). The methods are demonstrated with
full contacts and with actual fighting speed. Some protective outfit is used to prevent serious traumas. A few variants are shown for each method (depending on enemy's actions, his position, distance and so on). Everything is shown in details at different camera angles as well as in slow-motion.
Warning:
The methods shown in the film belong to a fighting section (not sports section!) of
Kung Fu. If you are going to use this film as a teaching guide it is necessary to be careful during training and to mind the speed and the strength of blows.
Thoughtless use of those methods can cause serious
traumas!
